Our Charges

Initial telephone advice is charged at £60 + VAT for a 20 minute phone call with a lawyer. You need to allow about 30 minutes as the initial registration can take a few minutes to deal with. We offer a tailor made service or a fixed fee service and the choice is yours. You can either agree to pay a fixed fee for the service no matter how much work is involved or an hourly rate. Want to know what you get for your money? Please read our full terms and conditions by clicking here.

We take Switch, Maestro, Delta, Visa and Mastercard. We also accept cheques but only act on cleared funds.

You can choose either fixed-fees or a tailor-made service for all work done. All fixed-fees can be paid immediately. For all fixed-fees up to £250 payment must be made immediately. For fixed-fees between £251 and £500 you can choose to spread the cost over 2 months. For fixed-fees of £501 and above you can choose to spread the cost over 3 months but in any event all fees must be paid in full prior to trial.

FIXED FEES

Where you choose a fixed fee option then fees are required in advance. If the case takes longer than anticipated you would not have to pay any additional costs unless the hearing is adjourned or goes beyond one day (see below for details of additional fees). If the prosecution is then dropped no refund would become due to us, but where possible we would seek to recover a proportion of those costs back from the CPS.

** The Court often insists on holding a preliminary hearing known as a Pre-Trial Review some weeks before the actual trial. It is essential that we attend such hearings as the issues raised could well affect the outcome of your case.

* All hearings and Trials are based on a one day hearing/Trial. If a hearing/Trial goes into a second day or is adjourned for any reason whatsoever no matter whose fault it is, a refresher fee for such second and subsequent days will be payable in advance at a daily rate of 50% of the hearing/Trial fee.

We aim to provide complete transparency in our charging structure. However, to enable us to provide fixed fees we need your co-operation and there are certain circumstances where additional fees must apply. Unlike most solicitors, the fixed fee covers travel and accommodation if overnight stays are required but does not include payments for disbursements or experts (e.g. reports and/or attendance of experts at court).

All prices are exclusive of VAT which will be charged at the standard rate. We aim to keep our costs reasonable because we are efficient, specialist, and we place some of the work onto you, for example, writing to your employers or getting evidence which you should have.

HOURLY RATE

Where you choose an hourly rate service you only pay for the time that is spent working for you. If we are immediately successful on the case you would save money as against a fixed fee option. However, the harder we have to work to help you, the more it costs you. With this service we would take an initial up front payment of £500 and then bill you monthly at the rate of £180 +VAT p.h. for a Solicitor or £250 + VAT p.h. for a Senior Solicitor or £350 for a Senior Partner/ Consultant for the work that is done to help you spread the cost. In addition, all barrister's fees and expert's fees must be paid in advance, a quote having been provided and an additional £500 + VAT will be required on account of costs prior to Trial. Following Trial if you are successful we will endeavour to claim a proportion of your costs from the Prosecution. You will rarely get all your costs back.

If you are convicted we will send you an account immediately after Trial and return any unused monies paid on account.
